biedexmarkets.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the gained 0.68%, while the index gained 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the were Adani Enterprises Ltd (NS:), which rose 6.24% or 181.25 points to trade at 3,087.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:) added 4.83% or 58.45 points to end at 1,268.00 and Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS:) was up 3.62% or 163.20 points to 4,675.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Axis Bank Ltd (NS:), which fell 2.05% or 22.15 points to trade at 1,058.25 at the close. IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) declined 1.72% or 25.90 points to end at 1,476.75 and JSW Steel Ltd (NS:) was down 0.95% or 7.50 points to 785.45.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which rose 2.83% to 1,677.60, Wipro Ltd (BO:) which was up 2.43% to settle at 516.60 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which gained 2.37% to close at 1,196.90.
The worst performers were Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was down 1.68% to 1,061.55 in late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which lost 1.33% to settle at 1,480.00 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.05% to 6,387.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1743 to 444 and 32 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2624 rose and 1101 declined, while 76 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 5.61% to 13.62 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.31% or 6.75 to $2,174.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.98% or 0.78 to hit $80.50 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.79% or 0.66 to trade at $84.69 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.03% to 82.83, while EUR/INR fell 0.10% to 90.61.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 102.46.
