In an effort to change the conversation around cannabis, the Cannabis Media Council has launched its original “I’m High Right Now” campaign in Spanish. This initiative, aimed at dismantling stereotypes around cannabis use, especially among Baby Boomers, has now been made accessible to the Spanish-speaking community, thanks to the collaboration with Anya Belaval Calimano, a respected figure in Puerto Rico’s cannabis scene.

The campaign, known for its fresh approach and humor, seeks to educate and engage the public about the positive uses of cannabis, focusing on older adults. “Our award-winning ‘I’m High Right Now’ campaign was designed to destigmatize cannabis consumption specifically among Baby Boomers,” explains Allison Disney, a foundational force behind the Cannabis Media Council, in conversation with Biedex Markets. She highlighted the campaign’s goal to overcome the barriers erected by decades of prohibition and misinformation.

Strategically supported by Hearst Media and featured on CTPost.com, the campaign has found a perfect platform in Connecticut, celebrating the state’s recent embrace of adult-use cannabis sales. It’s not just about challenging old misconceptions, it’s about fostering open dialogues within communities on the enriching experiences cannabis can offer.

The inclusion of Anya Belaval in this journey adds an invaluable layer by bridging the gap for Spanish-speaking audiences. Belaval’s translation work not only honored the campaign’s original spirit but also expanded its reach. “It was fun translating this campaign’s wit and humor. With it we’re looking to honor and give access to the Spanish-speaking community to a message that invites us to break stigmas and learn how this plant improves the quality of life of many,” said Belaval.
