biedexmarkets.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sydney, the rose 0.07%.

The best performers of the session on the were Appen Ltd (ASX:), which rose 7.05% or 0.06 points to trade at 0.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Zip Co Ltd (ASX:) added 5.79% or 0.08 points to end at 1.37 and Iluka Resources Ltd (ASX:) was up 4.23% or 0.29 points to 7.15 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:), which fell 7.38% or 1.11 points to trade at 13.94 at the close. EML Payments Ltd (ASX:) declined 5.56% or 0.07 points to end at 1.19 and Healius Ltd (ASX:) was down 4.76% or 0.06 points to 1.20.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 651 to 526 and 321 ended unchanged.

Shares in Zip Co Ltd (ASX:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.79% or 0.08 to 1.37.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 2.23% to 11.34.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.54% or 11.60 to $2,149.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.42% or 0.34 to hit $80.92 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.30 to trade at $85.64 a barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 0.66, while AUD/JPY rose 0.14% to 97.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 103.09.
